EVALUATION OF SOME QUALITY AND QUANTITY CHARACTERISTICS OF CANOLA VARIETIES IN RESPONSE TO FOLIAR APPLICATION OF MANGANESE
This study was conducted at field of technical institute in khabat/ Erbil Polytechnic University during the winter season 2015-2016 to study the effect of manganese foliar application on some quantitative and qualitative characteristics of canola varieties. Split-plot based on randomized complete block design, with three replicates will be used. Three varieties (Pactol, Srew, and Sputnik) are assigned as main plot, whereas concentrations of Mn (0, 200, 400 and 600 ppm) as subplot were implemented. Sputnick variety produces the highest Plant height (cm), number of branch and number of slequi/plant, while Srew variety recorded heights number of seed/slequi, 1000 seed weight (g) and seed yield (kg ha-1) but Pactol variety surpassed in oil%, oil yield(kg ha-1), palmiting acid% and olic acid%. Concentration of manganese foliar application 400 ppm surpassed in all quantitative characters except plant height (cm), and in qualitative characters 200 ppm on Mn foliar recorded heights olic and linoleic acids% but 600 ppm obtained heights content in palmitic, stearic and erucic acids%. From interaction varieties with Mn foliar recorded the highest seed yield(kg ha-1), oil content% and oil yield(kg ha-1) in Pactol variety with 400 ppm as well as this variety recorded the heights olic acid% on 200 ppm and lowest of erucic acid% in 0 ppm. Also sputnick variety surpassed in linoleic acid% with 200 ppm and linoleinic acid% in 0 ppm.
